McKenna & Ryan Almond Valley wedding in Mallorca
From the rooftops of Paris to the lavender fields of Provence - we photograph weddings across France with patience, intention and real feeling for the light.
We are Paco and Aga, wedding photographers in France - working across Paris, Provence, the Dordogne, Bordeaux, the Loire Valley and beyond. We photograph French weddings with a quiet, editorial approach: patient, unhurried, and always focused on the real moments rather than the performed ones. We work with both film and digital photography, and the light in France - whether golden hour on a Parisian rooftop or late afternoon in the Provençal countryside - is some of our favourite light to shoot in.
France rewards photographers who take their time, and that is exactly how we work. Whether you're planning a grand celebration in a chateau near Bordeaux, an intimate ceremony in a Provençal farmhouse, a wedding in Paris with an evening on the Seine, or a relaxed countryside day in the south, we would be honoured to document it honestly and beautifully.
If you're looking for a wedding photographer in France - Paris, Provence, or anywhere in between - with a genuine passion for the craft and a documentary, editorial approach, drop us a line. We'd love to hear about your plans.
France has always been a natural home for analog photography - the quality of the light, the texture of the stone, the long slow evenings of summer. Film wedding photography in France feels completely right: the warm tones of Kodak Portra against the lavender fields of Provence, or the cool grain of black-and-white film on the streets of Paris. We love to shoot a mix of colour and black-and-white rolls throughout the day, woven into our full digital coverage.
Film is available as an add-on to our France wedding photography packages. If it's something you'd like to incorporate into your day - a few rolls through the ceremony, the portraits, the dinner - just get in touch and we'll talk through what that looks like.
How would you describe your photography approach? We consider our photography to be full of style and elegance, without sacrificing the natural, documentary way of shooting. For the majority of your day, we remain unobtrusive, ensuring the genuine moments are captured without interruption. However, during portrait sessions, we'll provide guidance to ensure you look your absolute best in every photo. Recognizing that each wedding is unique, we always strive to adapt our approach to meet the specific needs and preferences of every couple.
What is the difference between film wedding photography and digital? Film photography gives your wedding photos a classic, timeless look with warm tones and a unique texture that many find adds a romantic touch. Digital photography, on the other hand, produces crisp, vibrant images with closer-to-real colours. The choice between film and digital ultimately comes down to the style and feel you envision for your wedding memories.
Which film do you use? We use a combination of different film types throughout the wedding day, as no single type suits every situation. Our go-to film rolls are Kodak Portra, Kodak Gold, and Ilford HP5 and Delta.
How do you deliver the film photos? What is the process? After shooting, the film is developed in a professional lab. Then, the negatives are scanned and processed. We deliver the resulting JPG files to you through your online wedding gallery. The black uneven frame you might see around some shots occurs because the scanner reads an area slightly larger than the photo itself. This frame can be cropped later if desired.
Do you mostly shoot with analog or digital cameras? We use various cameras on the wedding day, both analog and digital. Throughout the day, there are many different situations, and each requires a specific approach. We leverage our knowledge and experience to decide which camera and settings are best in any given moment.
Can we share our photos on social networks? Of course, feel free to share any photos you like! We'd be truly grateful if you could tag or mention us on Instagram when you do :)
Can we meet before booking you for our wedding in France? Absolutely - meeting beforehand allows us to discuss your wedding plans in detail and understand precisely what you're seeking in a wedding photographer. If an in-person meeting isn't feasible, we can arrange a video chat anytime.
Where are you based? Our base is on a beautiful island of Mallorca, from where we travel to destination weddings in France, Italy and Mexico.
