Chrissie & Henry | Colourful wedding at Son Togores, near Palma de Mallorca
Each wedding at Son Togores is a real eye-candy to photograph. Even though we are familiar with this wedding venue, it never ceases to amaze us!
Aisha & Stoffo
One of the coolest things about weddings that we photograph is that most of them are very different from each other. Aisha and Stoffo's wedding in Latvia was truly one of a kind! They joined lots of different cultures: Aisha is Latvian with Azerbaijani roots, Stoffo's family is South Tyrolean and they both have lots of German and Italian friends. The day was filled with Azerbaijani dances and Italian songs, part of the meal was cooked by the family members, the indoor "plan B" was even more romantic than the exterior option and they had 2 ceremonies. Not bad for one day.
The wedding was recently published on LoveMyDress blog, featuring Katya Katya London wedding gown wore by Aisha.
They both spent the night before the wedding separately with their families - Aisha in her family home in Riga and Stoffo in a cute little hotel in the centre of the city.
The couple wanted to celebrate their wedding in the countryside, far from city noises. They chose an awesome rustic venue, Mazmežotnes Muiža, about one-hour drive from Riga. The ceremony was originally going to take place in the gardens, but it was moved inside last minute due to rain forecast - this was absolutely not a problem as the venue has an amazing interior. Inga from Bannte, the wedding planner, made sure the place looked incredible!
Despite big grey clouds, the rain didn't disturb the guests and everyone could enjoy a fresh summer day after the ceremony.
We didn't have to go far to get an incredible background for the photos of the newlyweds :) The venue was surrounded by green and gold fields!
The reception place was one of the most charming we have ever been at. There's something magical in the combination of wood and brick that we just love. Using greenery, lots of light bulbs and candles, Inga and her team transformed this barn in a beautiful rustic wedding venue.
Mičošana is an old Latvian tradition, taking place around midnight on the wedding day. During this ceremony the bride and groom transform into man and wife. Its mysterious rituals and dancing around the bonfire make it exciting to be a part of!
The wedding did not finish with the night ceremony, the guests were continuing the party till the dawn!
It was our second time in Latvia and we will certainly look for more opportunities to visit Riga and this incredible country in the future :)
